Job Description


Role:

You will assist on engagements primarily related to the valuation and advisory of real estate and real estate entities. This may include financial modelling, business enterprise valuations (of real estate entities), appraisals of real property for a variety of purposes, real and personal property valuations for financial reporting purposes (primarily ASC 805, ASC 820 and ASC 360). You will be responsible for conducting reviews of third-party valuations of real estate assets and entities and providing review commentary to Baker Tillys audit engagement teams. As a part of your role, you will assist in the research and development of firm-published thought leadership.

Your key responsibilities include-

Summarize and analyze financial data including entity, portfolio, and property-level financial performance and forecasts.

Conduct economic, market, and property-level research.

Work with and develop a variety of templates.

Develop various valuation models.

Utilize discounted cash flow, direct capitalization, sales comparison approach, and cost approach valuation methodologies.

Get involved in technical writing such as developing narrative and summary format reports for client deliverables.

To excel in this role, you need -

Strong Microsoft Excel skills (must-have)

Strong writing skills (preferred)

Real estate asset management, audit, or valuation experience (preferred)

Familiarity with subscription sources such as CoStar and Argus valuation software (preferred)

You should have -

A Bachelors degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Three to five (3 5) years of experience in finance or valuation.
