Job Description

Hungry, Humble, Honest, with Heart.

The Opportunity

As part of the Global Design organization, the Nutanix Design Team is seeking a talented designer for our Bangalore office. We're looking for someone skilled at solving complex design problems in an enterprise environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working on large-scale products and may have familiarity with the domain Nutanix operates in.

At Nutanix, design and customer delight are embedded in every step of our product lifecycle. We follow a design-first philosophy that brings together consumer-grade design and web-scale engineering to deliver exceptional user experiences--similar to what you'd find with Apple or Tesla. Visit our career page to learn more about life at Nutanix.

About the Team

At Nutanix, you'll be part of a dynamic Design Team spanning India, the U.S., and Berlin. Our diverse, collaborative, and innovative culture enables us to push the boundaries of technology and design. We value unique perspectives, celebrate creativity, and work together to create cutting-edge solutions.

You will report to the Technical Director of Design, who fosters an environment of mentorship and growth. Our hybrid work model combines flexibility with collaboration, requiring team members to be in the office 2-3 days a week to maintain synergy while enjoying the benefits of remote work.

Your Role

Ramp up quickly on Nutanix products, processes, and culture. Take ownership of product features or areas and collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and other stakeholders to discuss requirements and constraints. Understand moderately complex problems and create simple, elegant design solutions. Deliver high-quality UX designs based on first principles and data while meeting deadlines. Present design concepts to key stakeholders, explaining the rationale behind decisions to build consensus and improve the overall experience. Proactively facilitate collaboration and teamwork to achieve shared goals. Plan, conduct, document, and present research within assigned product areas. Partner with UI development and backend engineering teams to ensure seamless implementation of designs.

What You Will Bring

Strong interaction design skills, with the ability to look beyond pixels and consider workflows in the context of the user's life. A willingness to challenge the status quo, advocate for users, and design with attention to detail--including micro-interactions. Openness to feedback and a desire to learn from peers and stakeholders. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks. Excellent presentation and communication skills. A collaborative mindset and strong team orientation. An organized approach with a focus on scalability and repeatability. A passion for improving the lives of our product users.

Minimum Qualifications

A strong UX design portfolio demonstrating consumer-grade design in complex domains. Proficiency with Figma and/or Sketch. Familiarity with user research and usability testing techniques. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely. Experience working across multiple design phases (interaction, visual design, prototyping). 3+ years of experience in UX design for web applications. Bachelor's degree in Interaction/UX Design, or a Bachelor's in Engineering with a Master's in Design.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated proficiency in at least one (and interest in at least one more) of the following areas:

UX research (qualitative, quantitative, remote, etc.) Design sprints and workshops Visual design and design systems Prototyping and UI engineering Experience working on B2C or consumer products Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and best practices Familiarity with AI tools for design, HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS
