The Used Car Evaluator is responsible for inspecting, assessing, and determining the market value of used vehicles. This role ensures accurate appraisals based on vehicle condition, history, market trends, and company pricing guidelines, supporting profitable buying, selling, and trade-in decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough inspections of used vehicles, including mechanical, cosmetic, and structural condition
Test-drive vehicles to identify performance or safety issues
Review vehicle history reports (e.g., accidents, title status, service records)
Assess mileage, wear and tear, modifications, and overall vehicle condition
Determine fair market value using pricing tools, auction data, and market trends
Provide accurate trade-in and purchase offers to customers or internal teams
Document inspection findings and appraisal reports clearly and accurately
Coordinate with sales, purchasing, and reconditioning teams
Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations
Stay up to date on automotive market trends and vehicle values
