The US Tax Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of US federal, state, and local tax compliance and reporting. This role ensures compliance with applicable tax laws, supports tax planning initiatives, manages audits, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to minimize tax risk and optimize tax efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Reporting
Manage preparation and review of US federal, state, and local income tax returns
Oversee quarterly and annual tax provisions (ASC 740)
Ensure timely filing of all tax returns, extensions, and payments
Review and manage sales & use tax, property tax, and other indirect taxes (if applicable)
Tax Planning & Advisory
Identify tax planning opportunities to reduce effective tax rate and cash taxes
Analyse tax implications of business transactions, restructurings, and new initiatives
Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany tax matters
Monitor changes in US tax laws and assess impact on the business
Audit & Risk Management
Lead and manage federal and state tax audits and inquiries
Coordinate with external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities
Maintain strong internal controls over tax processes and documentation
Collaboration & Leadership
Partner with accounting, finance, legal, and business teams on tax-related matters
Manage, mentor, and review work of junior tax staff (if applicable)
Assist in developing and improving tax processes and systems
Technology & Process Improvement
Utilize tax software and ERP systems to improve efficiency and accuracy
Drive automation and process enhancements within the tax function
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's in Tax preferred)
CPA, EA, or equivalent professional certification preferred
Experience
6-10 years of US tax experience, including public accounting and/or industry
Strong experience with US federal and state income taxes
Hands-on experience with ASC 740 tax provision
Exposure to multinational taxation preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
In-depth knowledge of US tax laws and regulations
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in tax software and MS Excel

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
