• Reviews loan files submitted for borrowers to ensure file meets loan program requirements. Includes analysis of: loan application, credit profile/report(s), debt and assets, income/financial statements, loan values/loan-to-value ratios, appraisal reports, collateral and supporting documentation.
• Inputs data and analysis of findings in Loan Prospector, Desktop Underwriter and / or other AUS engines
• Analyze income from salaried, commissioned, self-employed, investment and fixed income sources
• Analyze assets statements for all types of asset accounts
• Conditions files for missing/supporting documentation
• Revisits loans to review and clear conditions as documents are received
• Escalates potential fraud files to Credit Manager / Risk Management team
• Communicate status and decisions (approval, suspense, denial) to the appropriate individuals in accordance with company SLA\xe2\x80\x99s
• Provide excellent customer service to internal clients by demonstrating expertise, accuracy, thoroughness, thoughtfulness, politeness, enthusiasm and clearly conveying requirements in written format
• Update system with all appropriate information
• Interpret policies and program requirements while analyzing applicant information, property and documentation
• Comprehensive understanding of credit underwriting guidelines for FNMA and FHLMC for both purchase loans and refinances

Skills Required:

• Minimum 2+ years of current experience in U.S. Mortgage with Underwriting experience
• Knowledge of entire loan life cycle: including processing, underwriting and closing procedures
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills
• Able to prioritize multiple competing tasks and manage time effective in a fast-paced environment
• Problem-solver with strong analytical skills
• Ability to adheres to directives, procedures and standards
• Ability to work in a paperless environment
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Product Suite

Qualifications & Experience:

• Any Graduate
• 2 + Years of experience in US mortgage and underwriting
