Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented
US Tax Reviewer
to join our growing team. This role requires a deep understanding of
US federal and state tax laws

individual and business tax return reviews
, and proficiency in interpreting IRS guidelines and tax codes. The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing a wide range of tax forms and providing quality control for returns prepared by junior tax associates.

Verify
accurate application of tax law
, deductions, credits, and entity-specific compliance.
Review and ensure accuracy of various
IRS and state forms
, including:
1099s, W-2, W-3, W-4, W-8, W-9
940, 941
Schedule C, Schedule E, Schedule F
, and
K-1s
Review filings for
multi-state tax returns
and
state-specific compliance
.
Ensure correct
entity classification
, elections (e.g.,
Form 2553
,
8832
), and depreciation schedules (e.g.,
MACRS, Section 179
).
Ensure proper reporting for
foreign assets and income
(e.g.,
FBAR, FATCA - 8938
).
Review
estimated tax payment calculations
and ensure client is compliant with safe harbor rules.
Identify and resolve discrepancies or compliance issues before submission.
Client & Team Collaboration
Review prepared returns submitted by tax preparers and provide constructive feedback.
Ensure proper documentation and workpapers are attached for all returns.
Collaborate with tax preparers to gather missing data or clarify inconsistencies.
Assist with client communication and responses to IRS/state notices when required.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of
tax law changes
, IRS updates, and state-specific guidelines.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in
Accounting, Taxation, or Finance
(Master's degree or CPA/EA preferred).
3-6 years
of hands-on experience in
US tax preparation and review
.
In-depth knowledge of
IRS tax code
,
federal and state taxation
, and
entity-specific tax rules
.
Strong working knowledge of
tax software
such as
Lacerte, ProSeries, Drake, UltraTax, or CCH
.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tax files under tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills and experience reviewing work for offshore tax teams or CPA firms.
Ability to stay current with
annual tax law updates
and
regulatory changes

Experience in reviewing tax returns for
CPA firms or US-based tax practices
.
