Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer
to lead end-to-end development of embedded systems within our R&D team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in firmware architecture, board-level development, medical device compliance, and hands-on debugging. You will play a key role in designing innovative embedded solutions, bringing new products from concept to commercial release, and supporting continuous improvement of existing systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead complete embedded firmware development lifecycle--from requirements and architecture through development, testing, and release.
Design, develop, and optimize embedded software for MCU-based systems (Renesas, STM32, 16-32-bit architectures).
Participate in requirements analysis, system architecture, design reviews, and code reviews.
Improve system efficiency, scalability, and stability through advanced debugging and optimization.
Integrate and validate new product designs; perform board bring-up and hardware/firmware integration.
Reverse-engineer hardware/firmware, analyze protocols, and interpret schematics and component datasheets.
Develop device drivers for interfaces such as UART, I2C, SPI, etc.
Support post-production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate closely with hardware, QA, and product development teams.
Produce technical documentation, prototypes, and feasibility demonstrations.
Ensure compliance with
ISO13485
,
FDA regulations
, and medical device development standards.
Contribute to PCB development using OrCAD when needed.
Work on medical-related products such as ECG, SpO2, and other patient monitoring technologies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
10+ years of hands-on experience
in embedded firmware development and R&D.
Strong expertise in C, Embedded C, and assembly language programming.
Proven experience developing firmware in platform-independent environments.
Strong understanding of hardware schematics, board bring-up, and debugging tools.
Experience with medical device development, including
ISO13485
and
FDA submissions
.
Proficiency with Renesas, STM32, and a variety of MCU cores (16-32 bit).
Experience with OrCAD PCB design tools.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in embedded systems used in medical diagnostics or monitoring.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
Experience creating architecture frameworks and leading technical decision-making.
