Job Description

Background:

This role involves providing individualized support to young children with mild and moderate special needs in the classroom. The role will involve assisting the child in participating fully in classroom activities, fostering his/her independence, socialization, and developmental progress. The facilitator will also be responsible for providing direct instruction in foundational skills related to the child's IEP goals.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for children with special needs, in collaboration with teachers, families and under the guidance of special education experts.

2. Provide personalized support, direct instruction and accommodations to the child, based on their Individualized Education Program (IEP), to ensure engagement and growth.

3. Facilitate peer interactions and socialization opportunities for the child, promoting positive relationships and inclusive play experiences within the classroom.

4. Conduct home visits for children enrolled in the special needs program for additional one-on-one therapy, based on a defined schedule.

5. Maintain accurate records of children's progress, observations, and assessments.

6. Communicate regularly & collaborate with other stakeholders including the class teachers, parents, and other special education experts for supporting the child's development and inclusion.

7. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions while advocating for the unique needs and abilities of the child you are supporting.

8. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in special education, inclusive practices, and strategies for supporting children with diverse learning needs.

9. Help the school develop a more inclusive environment through research on best practices and contributing towards developing an inclusive educational model.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
