Role Overview
The Student Well-being Counsellor provides
emotional, psychological, and social support
to students, promoting their overall well-being and ensuring a positive learning environment. The role involves offering individual and group counselling, conducting awareness programs, and working with faculty, parents, and administration to address student needs.
Key ResponsibilitiesCounselling & Support
Provide confidential one-on-one counselling sessions for students facing personal, academic, or social challenges.
Offer group counselling or workshops on stress management, time management, self-esteem, peer pressure, and healthy relationships.
Support students with issues such as anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, academic stress, and crisis situations.
Awareness & Preventive Programs
Organize well-being initiatives, awareness campaigns, and mental health workshops.
Conduct orientation programs on wellness, coping strategies, and resilience building.
Collaborate with student clubs and peer mentors to promote a healthy campus culture.
Collaboration & Referral
Work with faculty and staff to identify students needing support and provide early intervention.
Liaise with parents, if required, ensuring confidentiality and sensitivity.
Refer students to external mental health professionals, psychiatrists, or medical support when necessary.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain counselling records with strict confidentiality.
Prepare periodic reports for the institution on student well-being trends and initiatives.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies, ethical guidelines, and legal requirements.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Master's Degree in Psychology / Clinical Psychology / Counselling Psychology / Social Work (with specialization in counselling).
Experience:
Min 2 years of counselling experience (school/college/university setting preferred).
Skills & Competencies:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Empathy, patience, and active listening ability.
Knowledge of adolescent and young adult psychology.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality.
Familiarity with stress management and crisis intervention techniques.
Additional Desirable Qualities
Certification in counselling or psychotherapy.
Experience in conducting workshops and group sessions.
Ability to design student wellness programs.
Awareness of cultural and social diversity in student populations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹11,306.71 - ₹30,000.00 per month
Willingness to travel:
75% (Preferred)
