Kathak Dance Teacher

to guide and inspire students from Grades 1 to 4. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in classical Indian dance, especially Kathak, and be skilled in adapting lessons to suit younger age groups through play-based and engaging instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and conduct age-appropriate Kathak dance lessons, introducing students to basic movements, taal, footwork, and expressions (bhav). Use storytelling, rhythm, music, and interactive methods to make classical dance accessible and enjoyable for young learners. Prepare students for school performances, cultural events, and class showcases. Encourage appreciation for Indian classical arts, including understanding of cultural context and traditions. Maintain a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports each child's learning and development. Collaborate with other performing arts faculty for interdisciplinary programs and events. Keep records of student participation and performance progress. Communicate with parents during events or PTMs as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Kathak Dance from a recognized institution (Gandharva Mahavidyalaya or equivalent). Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience, preferably with early or primary years. Strong understanding of child development and ability to engage young learners. Good communication skills in English and/or Hindi. Patience, empathy, and a creative approach to teaching classical dance.
