To ensure the microbiological quality and safety of raw materials, in-process products, finished goods, and the production environment by conducting routine testing, implementing hygienic practices, and supporting compliance with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and water/air/environmental samples.
Monitor and maintain aseptic conditions in laboratories and production areas.
Maintain and operate laboratory equipment such as incubators, autoclaves, and colony counters.
Develop and implement microbiological testing protocols aligned with FSSAI, ISO, HACCP, and other regulatory standards.
Record, analyze, and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist in root cause analysis of microbiological non-conformances and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Participate in internal and external audits; ensure documentation is complete and up to date.
Train production staff on hygiene, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and microbiological safety.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of microbiology, foodborne pathogens, and spoilage organisms.
Familiarity with HACCP and food safety regulations.
Laboratory skills: aseptic techniques, media handling
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Microbiology
Experience minimum 1 year in food industry laboratories preferred
