Job Description

Key Responsibilities



1. Business Development & Growth



Drive branch-level business targets including client outreach, loan disbursements, savings mobilization (if applicable), and cross-selling of financial products. Identify new market opportunities and establish strong community relationships to expand the client base. Conduct promotional activities to increase awareness of MFI services.

2. Portfolio & Risk Management



Ensure high portfolio quality by monitoring loan utilization, timely collections, and low PAR (Portfolio at Risk). Implement effective credit appraisal, approval, and recovery processes. Conduct regular client group/center meetings and follow-up visits.

3. Branch Operations & Compliance



Oversee daily branch operations, cash management, and adherence to policies & procedures. Maintain proper documentation, records, and reports in line with internal audit and regulatory standards. Ensure compliance with RBI/MFI regulatory guidelines and institutional code of conduct.

4. Team Leadership & Capacity Building



Recruit, train, and supervise Loan Officers/Field Staff and back-office team. Set performance targets, monitor staff productivity, and conduct periodic performance appraisals. Provide guidance, motivation, and disciplinary measures to ensure a high-performance culture.

5. Client Relationship & Social Impact



Build trust with clients and communities by addressing grievances promptly. Promote responsible lending and client financial literacy. Ensure branch activities contribute to the institution's mission of financial inclusion and poverty alleviation.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)



Achievement of loan portfolio and branch growth targets. Portfolio quality (PAR %, write-off ratio). Staff retention, productivity, and performance. Compliance with audit & regulatory requirements. Client satisfaction and community impact.

Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's degree (preferably in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field). 3-7 years of experience in microfinance or financial services; at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Strong understanding of microfinance operations, credit risk, and rural market dynamics. Proficiency in MS Office and MFI management software (MIS).
