We are a specialized development squad building a high-fidelity
Vertical Slice (MVP)
for a "Phygital" Metaverse ecosystem. We are looking for a talented
Unreal Engine 5 Developer
to lead the technical implementation of a stylized, narrative-driven VR experience.
This is a fast-paced, 2 months
contractual job
to deliver a polished investor demo. You will collaborate directly with Environment Artists and a Technical Artist to ensure the project looks "AAA" while running smoothly on standalone hardware.
Key Responsibilities
Core VR Mechanics:
Develop immersive player interactions using UE5's
Enhanced Input System
, including locomotion (smooth/teleport), hand tracking, and object manipulation (grabbing/placing items).
Game Loop Implementation:
Program the core quest logic via
Blueprints
, including object collection systems, state management, and event triggers (e.g., unlocking rewards upon task completion).
User Interface (UI):
Develop interactive 3D widgets (UMG) for in-game menus, shop interfaces, and "fake checkout" simulations.
Media Integration:
Implement high-resolution 360 video playback triggers for cinematic travel transitions within the level.
Quest Optimization:
Take ownership of performance profiling. Aggressively optimize Blueprints, materials, and draw calls to maintain a locked

on Android/Quest hardware.
Build Engineering:
Manage the Android packaging pipeline, creating daily .APK builds for testing and sideloading.
Requirements
Unreal Engine 5 Mastery:
Strong proficiency in
Blueprints
is required.
VR Portfolio:
Demonstrated experience shipping or developing VR titles for Oculus/Meta Quest. You must understand the specific constraints of mobile VR.
Optimization Skills:
Deep understanding of optimization techniques for standalone VR (Forward Rendering, GPU profiling, texture atlasing, and actor merging).
UI/UX Skills:
Experience creating functional, clean UI specifically for VR environments (laser pointer interactions or touch).
Version Control:
Proficiency with Git or Perforce for collaborative workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with
Niagara
for triggering visual effects.
Experience with
MetaSounds
or spatial audio implementation.
Previous experience working on "Vertical Slice" or "MVP" demos with tight deadlines.
