We are looking for applicants that have a keen interest in designing user interface applications with pixel-perfect appearance, feel designs, and, implementation manuals. An ideal candidate will be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and components and then transform them into lovely, intuitive, and functional user interfaces. The UI-UX Designer will help create and improve B2B and consumer applications for both web and mobile experiences. As part of TechVariable XD’s high-growth startup this individual should be able to evangelize UI-UX within the company, collaborate with peers, mentors, and mentees, and work on several high-level projects while delivering A-level work on all of them.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Apply proper knowledge of typography, color theory, gestalt principles, and other design concepts to create pleasant graphical user interfaces.
• Work with the designers, product managers, and developers to communicate the specifications, verify accurate implementation, and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Be open-minded to suggestions and criticism with an unbreakable spirit.
• You will create user flows, storyboards, wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes that translate concepts and business needs into a streamlined, intuitive user experience for web and mobile applications.
• Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and validate clickable prototypes of your designs.
• Scope design effort level.
• You will encourage innovation and the incorporation of new technology and design principles into TechVariable XD Design projects and activities.
• Rapid creation of working prototypes or mockups for demonstration or pre-sales purposes.
• Present design concepts to Senior Leadership and external partners.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 2+ years of relevant product design experience, ideally at software or design-first digital companies.
• An online portfolio that showcases your UX design process as well as high-end UI designs. Your designs are modern, clean, and elegant.
• Solid understanding of user-centered approaches and passion for understanding users’ needs and behavior.
• Your tools of the trade are anything from AdobeXD, Sketch, Figma, Balsamiq, FramerX, and Miro.
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who is constantly looking for ways to enhance the customer experience, both aesthetically and functionally.
• Experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methods, such as persona development, usability testing, journey mapping, interviewing, heuristic evaluations, and card sorting.
• Ability to work in an Agile development environment and communicate your ideas to developers and stakeholders.
• Be responsible for meeting expectations and deliverables on time and in high quality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
