Overview

This is a special opportunity for UI Lead professionals to join a dynamic global engineering team that automates content sourcing and structuring for high-demand tax content as it flows from extraction to delivery. As a Lead on the Content Engineering Department at Avalara, you will be part of a high performing team focused on implementing streaming architecture to enable event driven publishing and create content hub for consumption. This position is for someone who strives for developing solutions with niche technologies to discover and organize high quality content at scale with less manual work and faster delivery to our customers.
Responsibilities

You will be responsible for progressing the development of our tax content delivery system. This position is well suited to a software engineer who has a desire to solve problems with technology and enjoys building reliable and performant systems.

• Design and implement intuitive, maintainable, responsive web application with CSS, HTML, JavaScript using Outsystems (Low code) platform
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, developers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and define UI design goals.
• Creating UI design concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that align with user needs and business objectives.
• Conducting usability testing and incorporating user feedback to refine the UI design and ensure a positive user experience.
• Developing and maintaining UI design guidelines, style guides, and design systems to ensure consistency and quality across the product.
• Staying up to date with industry trends, design standards, and emerging technologies to improve UI design practices and incorporate new design elements and features.
• Providing mentorship and guidance to junior UI designers and team members to develop their skills and ensure a high level of quality in their work.

• 8+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in developing front-end for large-scale web applications.
• Excellent programming skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Experience and expertise in UI architecture, component/framework design.
• Developing advanced responsive layouts.
• Experience in building web applications compatible across multiple browsers and browser versions.
• Hands-on developer who can inspire the team to write clean, readable, and efficient code.
• Expertise in any one front-end JavaScript/TypeScript framework such as Angular, AngularJS, and/or React JS.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience on low code platforms like Outsystems is a plus
• Experience in AWS
