Job Description

We are seeking an experienced

Typesetting Specialist

with 4-5 years of hands-on experience in producing high-quality, accurate, and visually consistent layouts for print and digital publications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in industry-standard typesetting tools, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work with complex content such as books, journals, academic manuscripts, and marketing materials.

Key Responsibilities

Perform end-to-end

typesetting and page layout

for print and digital deliverables Apply style guides, templates, and brand standards consistently Handle

complex layouts

including tables, equations, figures, footnotes, references, and multi-column formats Ensure

typographical accuracy

, proper spacing, alignment, and pagination Incorporate author/client corrections efficiently and accurately Prepare files for

print-ready (PDF/X)

and

digital outputs (EPUB, XML, HTML)

Coordinate with editors, designers, and production teams to meet deadlines Conduct quality checks to ensure error-free output Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards
Required Skills & Experience

4-5 years of professional experience

in typesetting or page composition Strong proficiency in typesetting and layout tools, including: Adobe InDesign Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (basic to intermediate) Microsoft Word (advanced formatting) LaTeX (preferred for academic/technical content) Experience working with

books, journals, academic, STM, or corporate publications

Knowledge of

typography principles

(fonts, kerning, leading, tracking) Familiarity with

print production standards

and prepress workflows Ability to follow

XML/DTD or style-based workflows

(preferred) Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with

EPUB, HTML, or XML-based typesetting workflows

Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., tagged PDFs) Exposure to automated or template-based publishing systems Strong communication and time-management skills
Educational Qualification

Bachelor's degree or diploma in

Graphic Design, Publishing, Printing Technology, or a related field
