Role Overview

A multi-skilled tradesperson responsible for machining, fitting, assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical parts and machinery, based on technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specs Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and related machinery pnet.co.za+1go.jobflows.co+1 Fabricate, assemble, align, and fit precision components to required tolerances go.jobflows.co Perform preventive and corrective maintenance; diagnose and fix mechanical Measure, inspect, and ensure accuracy of assembled parts using precision tools adfcareers.gov.au+7consultanz.com.au+7au.indeed.com+7 Troubleshoot breakdowns and assist with machine dismantling and reassembly netyourjob.com Adhere to safety protocols, using PPE and following workshop standards
Required Qualifications & Skills

Completed ITI, Diploma, B.Tech in Mechanical or related trade Proven experience operating manual machining tools--lathe, mill, grinder Strong blueprint reading, math, and measurement abilities Practical troubleshooting and fault?finding capability Manual dexterity, physical stamina, attention to detail Ability to work solo or as part of a team consultanz.com.au
Desirable Experience (Optional)

Working knowledge of CNC machines (e.g., CNC lathes, milling machines) Welding skills (ARC/MIG/TIG) and piping/hydraulics familiarity
