The Treasury Manager is responsible for managing the jewellery unit's
cash, bank, bullion, and foreign exchange operations
, including buying and selling of gold/forex and handling export-related transactions. The role ensures
liquidity management, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and smooth financial operations
.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Bullion & Forex Buy/Sell Operations
Execute purchase and sale of gold, silver, and other precious metals based on market rates and business requirements.
Monitor international and domestic bullion prices to optimize buying and selling decisions.
Manage foreign exchange transactions, including buying/selling currencies for import/export settlements.
Maintain proper documentation, approvals, and audit trails for bullion and forex transactions.
2. Cash & Banking Management
Monitor daily cash flows and bank balances across units.
Authorize and oversee fund transfers, cash disbursements, and payment processing.
Reconcile bank accounts and ensure accuracy of all financial records.
Maintain relationships with banks and bullion/forex dealers.
3. Export Operations
Manage foreign currency transactions for export orders.
Coordinate with banks for Letters of Credit (LCs), export bills, and remittances.
Prepare
GML / SWIFT / MT files
for export payments and collections.
Ensure timely realization of export proceeds and compliance with RBI/FEMA regulations.
4. Treasury Planning & Risk Management
Forecast cash, bullion, and forex requirements to optimize liquidity.
Monitor working capital, credit limits, and currency exposures.
Recommend hedging strategies to mitigate forex and bullion price risks.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on cash, bullion, and forex positions.
5. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements for bullion, forex, and export transactions.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation for all treasury operations.
Support internal and external audits related to treasury, bullion, and export functions.
6. Team Leadership
Lead and mentor treasury staff, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities.
Train team members on bullion, forex, cash, banking, and export procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
Graduate / Postgraduate in Finance, Commerce, or MBA (Finance).
5-10 years of experience in treasury operations, preferably in
jewellery, bullion trading, or export finance
.
Strong knowledge of bullion markets, forex operations, banking, and GML/MT file handling.
Familiarity with regulatory compliance (RBI, FEMA, GST) for bullion and export transactions.
