The Travel Management Faculty is responsible for delivering comprehensive education and training in travel, tourism, and airline-related operations to aviation students. The role focuses on developing students' understanding of airline ticketing, airport operations, global distribution systems, travel documentation, customer service, and aviation industry standards. The faculty member plays a key role in preparing students for careers in airlines, airports, travel agencies, and aviation-related service sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Academic Delivery
Conduct classroom lectures and practical sessions for aviation students in travel management subjects
Teach airline-focused topics such as:
Airline ticketing and fare construction
Reservation systems and Global Distribution Systems (GDS)
Airport and airline operations
Travel documentation (passports, visas, health requirements)
Tour planning and itinerary design
Customer service and passenger handling
Aviation geography and airline codes
Explain aviation regulations, safety standards, and international travel procedures
Integrate real-world aviation case studies into teaching
Curriculum & Course Development
Develop and update course materials aligned with aviation industry requirements
Design lesson plans, presentations, assignments, and assessments
Support curriculum enhancement to reflect current airline and travel industry trends
Student Development & Mentorship
Guide students on career paths in airlines, airports, and travel management
Mentor students for internships, projects, and industry exposure
Support students in developing professional skills such as communication, teamwork, and service excellence
Prepare students for interviews and entry-level aviation roles
Assessment & Evaluation
Conduct examinations, practical evaluations, and assignments
Assess student performance and provide constructive academic feedback
Maintain accurate academic and attendance records
Industry Engagement & Institutional Support
Coordinate industry visits, guest lectures, workshops, and seminars
Collaborate with aviation and travel industry professionals
Participate in academic meetings, training programs, and institutional activities
Ensure compliance with institutional and aviation training standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
Travel & Tourism Management
Aviation Management
Hospitality Management
or a related field
Teaching or training experience in aviation, travel, or tourism preferred
Industry experience with airlines, airports, or travel agencies is highly desirable
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of airline travel management and aviation operations
Familiarity with airline reservation systems and ticketing procedures
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to engage aviation students with practical, industry-relevant teaching
Strong organizational and classroom management skills
