Job Description

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Planning and Coordination

Route Planning:

Develop and optimize bus routes to ensure they are efficient, safe, and cover all necessary areas.

Scheduling:

Create and maintain schedules for school buses, including pick-up and drop-off times.

Coordination:

Work with school administration to align transportation plans with school events, holidays, and other activities.

2. Safety and Compliance

Regulations:

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including vehicle safety standards and driver qualifications.

Safety Protocols:

Implement and monitor safety procedures for student transportation, including emergency protocols and accident response.

Inspections:

Oversee regular inspections and maintenance of school vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.

3. Driver Management

Hiring:

Recruit and hire qualified bus drivers and other transport staff.

Training:

Provide or arrange for training programs for drivers on safety, regulations, and customer service.

Supervision:

Monitor driver performance and address any issues or concerns related to their conduct or vehicle operation.

4. Communication

With Parents:

Serve as a point of contact for parents regarding transportation issues, changes, and concerns.

With Staff:

Collaborate with school staff to address transportation-related needs and coordinate on special requests or changes.

With Authorities:

Liaise with local authorities and transportation agencies to stay updated on regulations and infrastructure changes.

5. Budget Management

Budget Planning:

Develop and manage the transportation budget, including costs for fuel, maintenance, and staffing.

Cost Control:

Look for ways to reduce transportation costs without compromising safety or efficiency.

6. Emergency Management

Crisis Response:

Develop and implement plans for managing transportation during emergencies, such as severe weather or accidents.

Communication:

Ensure clear communication with all stakeholders during an emergency, including parents, staff, and emergency services.

7. Record Keeping

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including vehicle maintenance, driver schedules, and incident reports.

Reports:

Generate and review reports on transportation operations to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.

8. Technology Utilization

Software:

Use transportation management software to assist with route planning, scheduling, and tracking.

Innovation:

Stay informed about new technologies that could improve transportation efficiency and safety.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
