Family support and consent:
Provide grief counseling to families of deceased donors, explain the organ donation process, and obtain legal consent.
Process coordination:
Coordinate organ retrieval, preservation, and transport, while ensuring legal and medico-legal aspects are handled correctly.
Awareness and reporting:
Promote organ donation and prepare reports and data for state and national organ donation organizations.
For transplant recipients
Patient evaluation and education:
Assess patient eligibility, conduct medical workups for both donor and recipient, and provide comprehensive education on the transplant process.
Waitlist and admission management:
List patients on the state waitlist, manage their medical status while waiting, and coordinate their admission for surgery.
Post-transplant care:
Manage patient care, including medications, side effects, and follow-up appointments, and coordinate discharge planning.
Administrative tasks:
Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete, coordinate with government authorities, and arrange appointments and interviews.
