Job Description

Role Purpose

The Projects Lead will be leading a project and/or program portfolio and be accountable for ensuring high quality (project/program) management advisory and consulting services to Vodafone Local Markets, Vodafone Shared Services and Group Functions with the focus on either _VOIS Service Line or Digital. The projects that the Projects Lead will manage can include CARE process transition projects, transformation projects, strategic projects, and digital projects (Robotics Process Automation and equivalent technology + Intelligent Automation) as part of a larger transformation program. The Projects Lead will be fully accountable for leading the assignment to a timely and satisfactory completion whilst following the project methodology accurately, ensuring all project deliverables are completed and signed off by relevant business stakeholders, registering templates/documents and project updates accurately and timely on the project portfolio platform, setting up and leading project governance with all project stakeholders, ensuring Risk and Compliance deliverables are fulfilled without delays and report back status to management and proactively work towards removing potential obstacles and roadblocks along the project's full lifecycle.

The Projects Lead will be leading all 'virtual' project members, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clear and distribute work packages to all project resources.
Respecting the overall project delivery timelines, tracking the project budget allocation, and identifying all project resource requirements.
Maintaining good rapport with all project stakeholders and ensuring transparent communication with the business partners, virtual project team and other project key stakeholders.
Supporting commercial and opportunity management activities in generating solutions and creating business cases.

Key accountabilities

Project/Program Management

  • Delivery of initiatives with various project types as per pre-defined milestones, facilitating timely completion of all deliverables whilst managing resources, deadlines, and budgetary requirements.
  • Professional services projects: Leveraging project/program management expertise and advisory capabilities for the benefit of Vodafone Local Markets and Group Functions.
  • Care process transition projects: Migrating Vodafone Local Market business processes to the Vodafone Shared Services platform
  • Leading the following aspects for any type of project:
1. Time: length of work packages and keeping to key milestones and management phases.
2. Cost: owning the project budgets and assigning resources within the budgetary constraints.
3. Scope: ensuring the scope of the project does not deviate from the initial business case and Project Initiation Document/Scope of Work.

Forming and Leading 'virtual' project teams and work streams

Identify the supporting functions/work streams required to deliver each project. As part of the Project Initiation Document/Scope of Work, a clear split of responsibilities and work packages to be delivered by the supporting functions/work streams will be created. Ensure the functions/work streams deliver on time and initiate mechanisms and project governance where progress will be monitored and reviewed. Facilitate information streams and reviews between all project key stakeholders.

Reporting
Ensure all projects are maintained in the central project repository. Maintain the rigor as per the agreed program/project governance and ensure project reporting is accurate and to the point. Reporting should enable to have a 'zero surprise' environment and leadership support requirements should be impactful and punchy. Represent the team on global project/program reviews, SteerCo' s and conferences.

Commercial activity and value generation
Supporting business development and the generation of new leads and opportunities for the team with existing and new accounts and business partners. Ensuring all value is captured and reported to the local and global value committees (labour arbitrage, productivity, and knowledge arbitrage)

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
  • A minimum of 4-6 years' relevant project/program management experience, ideally at a Shared Services / BPO or advisory firm.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects in an advisory and consultative capacity.
  • Ability to apply thought leadership in providing business solutions to customers.
  • Relevant university degree in IT, Business Management, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in setting up large, complex virtual project teams in a global setting.
  • Self-starter who can operate under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to operate in a blue-sky thinking environment and dream 'big'
  • Experience in process transformation/improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, digitalisation, automation)
  • Commercial savviness, supporting the development of existing and new business partner accounts.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
  • Professional project/program management practitioner certification in PMP, Prince2, APM, ITIL or equivalent.
  • Strong computer literacy, advanced usage of MS Office and MS Project
  • Fluent written and spoken English, other languages can be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship management, negotiating & influencing skills.
  • Ambitious, friendly and the drive to challenge status quo and be disruptive.
  • Proactively following tendencies and trends in the services industry.
  • Ability to deliver innovative and creative solutions to our customers to maximize benefits and value.
