Role Summary/Purpose:




A Lean, Digitisation and Asset Maintenance Lead is responsible for driving continuous improvement, digital transformation & define Maintenance within Transit India Field Services Operations to boost efficiency, reduce waste, improve asset availability and enhance productivity. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing Field Services roadmaps for both lean and digital initiatives, leading cross-functional teams to optimize processes, and fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement. The person should also be responsible to define maintenance strategy for the Transit Services Assets deployed across various sites in India. This role requires expertise in both lean methodologies and digital tools to improve processes, implement automation, and manage projects from start to finish.

Essential Responsibilities:



Develop and implement strategy:

Create and execute Field Services Lean, AI, and digital transformation roadmaps, including conducting gap analyses and implementing new tools and technologies.

Process optimization:

Lead cross-functional teams to analyze, streamline, and improve operational processes using lean and digital tools to enhance quality, efficiency, and traceability.

Lead continuous improvement:

Drive business process improvement by leading Kaizen events, Operational Excellence initiatives, and other projects, ensuring consistent and rigorous application of methodologies across the business.

Manage projects:

Oversee the development and execution of action plans to address issues, and manage strategic projects focused on capacity increases and new equipment integration.

Foster a culture:

Champion a culture of continuous improvement, problem-solving, and accountability across teams.

Monitor performance:

Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, using data analysis to drive informed decisions and continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance and quality:

Ensure all operations are carried out in a cost-effective and appropriate way, while meeting quality standards and customer expectations.

Collaborate and manage stakeholders:

Work with leadership and department heads to align operational initiatives with business goals and manage communications with stakeholders.

Develop Maintenance, Digitization & Calibration Strategy

for all the Wabtec Owned Assets (test Benches + Tools) deployed across Various Sites in India.

Develop, implement, and monitor

comprehensive asset management programs, including preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, to enhance equipment lifespan and reliability.

Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for assets, such as

Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and downtime, to measure performance and guide improvement efforts.

Manage maintenance budgets, control costs

, and evaluate investment decisions related to equipment upgrades or replacements.

Desired Characteristics :



Strong knowledge of Lean methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen) and operational excellence principles. At least 10+ additional years of experience in manufacturing Experience with digital transformation initiatives, including automation, AI, and data analysis. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects from start to finish. Excellent data analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills. Budgeting and financial management experience. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field like Engineering or Operations Management, with advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Master Black Belt) often preferred. Strong leadership and coaching abilities Lean Leader or Black Belt preferred
