Job Title

: Training Officer - Soft Skill Trainer

Job Location: 2 Openings - Kolkata & Barasat

Job Brief:

Deliver employability skills, life skills, IT Skills, financial literacy and other work related training that empowers youth to take up employment or further education. Work with youth to identify their Livelihoods targets either taking up work or further education and support them to achieve these targets through the Magic Bus Livelihood skills training programme. Mobilize, counsel and create training pathways for each trainee consisting of life skills, employability, IT and vocational training to enable youth to realize their career goals.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Deliver structured induction and skill-based training to youth at Livelihood Centres. Use sports and interactive methods to build life skills and engagement. Adapt training content to the local context while ensuring outcomes are met. Conduct individual needs assessments and support youth in creating Personal Development Plans. Guide and mentor youth toward employment, further education, or training opportunities. Coordinate with Placement Officers and mentors to support each youth's journey. Monitor attendance, track progress, and address risks of dropout. Help mobilize youth from the community and build strong relationships from day one. Collaborate with local teams to continuously improve program delivery and impact. Maintain records and contribute to reporting and data collection.

Strong relationship-building and youth motivation skills. Confident trainer with effective communication abilities Follows processes and uses program tools consistently. Team player with good spoken and written Hindi/local language and English. Proactive, solution-oriented mindset. Well-organized with good time management. Flexible to work evenings/weekends when needed. Skilled in conducting sensitive and thorough need assessments. Comfortable handling data and tracking progress against targets.

Preferred Qualification & Attributes:

Bachelor degree in any stream. Degree/Diploma with specific domain will added advantage. Minimum 1-year experience of working with and achieving positive outcomes for disadvantaged 18-25 year olds or a portion of this age range. Direct experience of delivering employability skills and life skills training and achieving positive outcomes with youth. Training session planning and design, applying core training content and building in elements to make training relevant to local context. Evaluating training effectiveness, creating evaluation processes and updating training methods and techniques according to findings. Creating and managing training timetables and schedules. Knowledge of Basic Computer and English Speaking Skills. Knowledge of youth needs with regard to progressions into work or further education. Experience of need assessment and/or creating personal plans and targets with youth. Experience of either employability skills, job placement, youth development or vocational training programmes either directly or indirectly (desirable)
