About the Role
We are looking for an experienced
Training Head
to design and deliver structured training programs for
interns, fresh engineers, and junior staff
in the areas of
billing, estimation, BOQs, measurements, and practical site execution
.
The role focuses on
building job-ready civil engineers
who understand both
technical execution and commercial aspects
of construction projects.
This role is well suited for retired civil engineers with 15-20 years of practical industry experience who wish to mentor and train young engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Capability Development
Design and deliver structured training modules for:
Billing & Quantity Surveying
Estimation & rate analysis
BOQs, measurements, and reconciliation
Practical site execution basics
Train interns and junior engineers through:
Classroom sessions
Practical exercises
Live project data and drawings
Billing & Estimation Support
Support the Commercial & Cost Control team in:
Preparation and checking of client bills
Measurement verification
Estimation and cost analysis
Ensure interns and trainees understand:
How estimates convert into execution budgets
How billing links to site progress
Training Material & SOP Development
Develop training materials including:
Sample BOQs
Measurement sheets
Rate analysis templates
Billing checklists
Standardize internal formats and learning resources
Internship & Junior Engineer Program Management
Manage internship programs including:
Induction and orientation
Skill assessment
Progress tracking
Evaluate trainee performance and recommend deployment to:
Site execution
Billing / estimation teams
Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with:
Commercial Head
Operations Head
Provide feedback on:
Skill gaps
Training outcomes
Engineer readiness
Authority & Accountability
Authority to design and conduct internal training programs
Responsible for technical quality and effectiveness of training
Advisory role; no financial approval authority
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Number of interns trained and deployed successfully
Improvement in billing and estimation accuracy
Reduction in errors by junior engineers
Feedback from operations and commercial teams
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in
Civil Engineering
(mandatory)
8-12 years of experience
in:
Billing & Quantity Surveying
Estimation & rate analysis
Practical site execution
Strong hands-on knowledge of:
BOQs and measurements
Billing procedures
Costing and estimation practices
Prior experience in training, mentoring, or team development preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong teaching and mentoring ability
Clear communication and explanation skills
Practical, hands-on approach to training
Patience and ability to work with freshers
Strong documentation and presentation skills
