Job Title: Associate- Training cum Supervision -VHSND Location: Koderma District, Jharkhand Tenure: 3 months (flexible based on performance and need) Reporting To: Project Manager About the project- Spearheaded the inaugural phase of a comprehensive, multi-pronged project to elevate VHSND service delivery throughout Koderma district. Under the close watch of district authorities, this initiative focuses on improving VHSND service delivery indicators and fortifying the government infrastructure. Should have remarkable adaptability and a strong sense of ownership while tackling unforeseen challenges. Summary: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Health and Nutrition Trainer cum Supervisor to deliver comprehensive training to Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) on Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Days (VHSND) in Koderma District, Jharkhand. You will play a key role in strengthening their capacity to implement VHSND effectively, thereby impacting the health and nutritional well-being of children and mothers in the community. We are seeking someone who can meet district officials and share regular updates in a comprehensive manner. Responsibilities:
  • Training Delivery: o Design and deliver interactive training sessions for AWWs and ANMs on various aspects of VHSND, including child and maternal health, nutrition, immunization, hygiene, sanitation, and early childhood development. o Facilitate group discussions, role-playing activities to ensure active learning and application of knowledge. o Adapt training content to address local needs and challenges faced by participants. o Help Sevikas understand the various aspects of Poshan-tracker to make filling of the data easy.
  • Supervision- o Supervise the field team and help them undertake VHSND monitoring effectively. o Help the team build VHSND related content to be delivered at the anganwadis. o Update the core team on the supervision and share regular feedbacks on ways to improve field supervision.
  • Field Monitoring and Feedback: o Visit Anganwadi centers to observe VHSND implementation practices. o Provide constructive feedback and guidance to AWWs and ANMs on improving program delivery. o Identify potential challenges and gaps in service provision and recommend solutions. o Help district identify sevikas who are doing VHSND properly and learn the best practices from them to make them into model centers for VHSND. o Figure out ways to involve community to plan VHSND more effectively.
  • Reporting and Documentation: o Help in preparation of comprehensive training reports, including observations, feedback, and recommendations. o Maintain accurate records of training attendance and participant performance. o Participate in regular meetings with project team and district officials to share feedback and progress updates. o Report findings from the ground to the block/district level official and discuss ways to change the current scenario.
  • Liaison and Networking: o Build strong relationships with AWWs, ANMs, community leaders, and district officials. o Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of VHSND and other health and nutrition initiatives. o Foster a supportive learning environment for participants. o Share daily/weekly updates with the district officials to take their feedback and implement the same on ground.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Education, Social Work, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5-6 years of experience in designing and delivering training programs on health, nutrition, or ECCE topics.
  • Proven experience working with communities, particularly in rural settings.
  • Strong understanding of VHSND guidelines and implementation strategies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Hindi and local dialects of Jharkhand is a strong advantage.
  • Computer literacy and data management skills are essential.
