The Training Centre Lab Assistant will support the effective functioning of the training centre's technology infrastructure, including computers, simulators, AR/VR equipment, and networking systems. The role involves providing hands-on assistance to candidates, troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring smooth operation of simulators, and supporting trainers in delivering high-quality, technology-enabled training. This position is ideal for individuals who are tech-savvy, passionate about learning and teaching, and eager to work in a skill-development environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Technology & Simulator Support
Perform troubleshooting and routine maintenance of computers, laptops, and peripheral devices.
Operate, manage, and troubleshoot various simulators used in the training centre, including:
BOPT Simulator
HMV Simulator
Any other logistics or driving simulators
Provide AR/VR demonstrations to trainees and trainers as required.
Guide candidates on the correct usage of simulators and ensure adherence to safety and operational protocols.
2. Networking & IT Support
Check and resolve issues related to LAN/WAN connectivity, internet access, and general networking.
Coordinate with external IT support vendors when required for escalated issues.
Ensure all systems are updated, secure, and operating efficiently.
3. Training Support & Candidate Assistance
Assist trainees during practical sessions by helping them understand and use various training technologies.
Provide clear instructions and support to candidates on simulator-based modules.
Ensure the lab environment is organized, safe, and conducive to learning.
4. Reporting & Documentation
Generate daily/weekly simulator usage reports, attendance logs, and performance summaries.
Maintain records of troubleshooting tasks, system updates, and hardware/software issues.
Support trainers in preparing training content that requires technology integration.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related field.
Basic to intermediate knowledge of hardware, software troubleshooting, and networking concepts.
Experience with simulators, AR/VR equipment, or lab operations is an added advantage.
Strong communication skills with the ability to guide trainees clearly and patiently.
Tech-savvy with the ability and willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and training equipment.
Passion for teaching, learning, and supporting skill development activities.
