The Training and Placement Officer (TPO) at Poddar Group of Institutions plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academia and industry. This position is responsible for enhancing the employability of students by providing comprehensive training and facilitating placement opportunities with reputed organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Industry Collaboration:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with industries and corporate partners to facilitate campus recruitment and internships.
Training & Skill Development:
Organize and oversee training programs focusing on aptitude, communication skills, soft skills, resume building, group discussions, and interview preparation to enhance student employability.
Placement Facilitation:
Coordinate campus recruitment drives, pre-placement talks, and interviews, ensuring smooth execution and maximum student participation.
Career Counseling:
Provide guidance to students on career planning, job opportunities, and industry trends to help them make informed career choices.
Data Management:
Maintain and update records of student profiles, placement statistics, and employer feedback to assess the effectiveness of training and placement activities.
Event Management:
Organize industry visits, guest lectures, workshops, and seminars to expose students to real-world industry practices and expectations.
Collaboration with Academic Departments:
Work closely with faculty and department heads to align training programs with the latest industry requirements and academic curricula.
Reporting:
Prepare and present regular reports on placement activities, student progress, and industry engagement to the management.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Qualification:
Master's degree in any discipline; MBA (HR) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 3 to 5 years of proven experience in training and placement activities within educational institutions.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi.
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students, faculty, and industry professionals.
Organizational Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with placement management software is a plus.
