The Trainer - General Duty Assistant is responsible for delivering
competency-based healthcare training
aligned with
NSDC Qualification Packs (QP) and National Occupational Standards (NOS)
. The trainer ensures candidates acquire the
knowledge, skills, and professional behavior
required to work effectively as General Duty Assistants in hospitals and healthcare facilities, leading to
successful assessment, certification, and placement readiness
.
Key Responsibilities
1. NSDC / SSC-Aligned Training Delivery
Deliver training strictly as per
HSSC-approved QP, NOS, and curriculum
.
Adhere to
NSDC Common Norms
, training hours, and batch structure.
Ensure outcome-based and learner-centric training delivery.
2. Core GDA Technical Training
Train candidates on:
Basic anatomy and physiology
Patient care and bedside assistance
Personal hygiene and patient safety
Demonstrate procedures related to:
Vital signs monitoring
Feeding, bathing, positioning, and mobility assistance
Infection prevention and control practices
3. Clinical & Practical Skills Training
Conduct hands-on demonstrations and supervised practice on:
Bed making and patient transfer
Use of basic medical equipment
First aid and emergency response (basic level)
Ensure compliance with
hospital protocols and safety standards
.
4. Assessment & Certification Support
Prepare candidates for:
HSSC theory and practical assessments
Mock assessments and internal evaluations
Coordinate with
SSC-appointed assessors
during assessments.
Maintain assessment readiness documentation.
5. Soft Skills & Employability Training
Train candidates on:
Communication with patients, attendants, and healthcare staff
Professional behavior, ethics, and confidentiality
Teamwork and workplace discipline
Support basic placement readiness activities.
6. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain:
Attendance records
Session plans and practical logs
Candidate progress and assessment reports
Ensure readiness for
NSDC, HSSC, and State Skill Mission audits
.
7. Health, Safety & Ethics
Emphasize:
Infection control
Biomedical waste management
Patient rights and dignity
Ensure trainees follow safety and hygiene protocols at all times.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Educational Qualification
B.Sc Nursing / GNM / ANM / B.Sc / M.Sc in Life Sciences / Diploma in Nursing / Allied Health Sciences
Experience
Minimum
2-5 years
of experience in:
Hospital / clinical settings
and/or
Healthcare training
Experience in skill development programs preferred.
