The Trainer for Electric Vehicle Service Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality training to learners in the field of electric vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair. The trainer should possess both technical expertise and effective teaching skills to ensure that trainees gain practical and theoretical knowledge aligned with industry and Sector Skill Council (SSC) standards.
Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery:
Conduct classroom and practical sessions as per the approved curriculum for Electric Vehicle Service Technician under NSQF/SSC guidelines.
Lesson Planning:
Prepare session plans, learning materials, and assessment tools in alignment with training standards
Hands-on Demonstrations:
Provide live demonstrations on EV components such as batteries, motors, controllers, converters, and charging systems.
Assessment & Evaluation:
Conduct formative and summative assessments to evaluate trainee performance and maintain training records.
Lab & Equipment Management:
Ensure training tools, equipment, and safety gear are available, functional, and maintained properly.
Industry Updates:
Stay updated on latest EV technologies, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques, and integrate them into training delivery.
Soft Skills Integration:
Impart workplace safety, communication, and customer service skills relevant to EV maintenance professionals.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain attendance, progress reports, and assessment records in accordance with SSC or project norms.
Liaison:
Coordinate with training partners, SSCs, and industry experts for continuous improvement of training quality.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of EV systems - batteries, motors, BMS, charging systems, and drivetrains.
Ability to read and explain electrical schematics and diagnostic data.
Proficiency in using diagnostic and testing tools for EV components.
Effective communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.
Understanding of NSQF, QP-NOS framework, and assessment methodologies.
Commitment to safety standards for high-voltage electrical systems.
Educational Qualifications
Essential:
Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering from a recognized institution.
Preferred:
Certification in Electric Vehicle Technology / EV Maintenance / Automotive Electrical Systems from ASDC or an equivalent Sector Skill Council.Certified Trainer (ToT/ToA) under NSDC / Automotive SSC will be an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum:
3-5 years of industrial experience in EV servicing, maintenance, or diagnostics.
Preferred:
1-2 years of experience in conducting technical or vocational training in the automotive/electric vehicle domain.
Work Environment
Classroom and practical workshop setting.
May require travel to training centers or field locations for on-site demonstrations.
Must adhere to safety, PPE, and environmental standards.
