The Design & Execution Engineer Trainee will support the design, drafting, production coordination, and site execution activities for furniture/woodwork projects. This role is ideal for fresh engineering or diploma graduates who want to build skills in design software, manufacturing processes, and project execution in the wood/furniture industry.
Key Responsibilities1. Design & Drafting Support
Assist in preparing
2D drawings and 3D models
for furniture and interior woodwork.
Support senior designers in using software such as
Pytha / AutoCAD / SketchUp
.
Create detailed
joinery drawings, exploded diagrams, and material specifications
.
Update drawings based on client or production feedback.
2. Bill of Materials (BOM) Preparation
Assist in preparing
BOMs
, cut lists, and hardware lists.
Coordinate with the production team to ensure material accuracy.
Maintain drawing and BOM documentation.
3. Production Coordination
Support the production team with
clarifications related to drawings
.
Assist in resolving technical issues on the shop floor.
Follow up on production schedules and ensure alignment with drawings.
4. Site Execution Assistance
Visit project sites and coordinate with installation teams.
Assist in supervising installation activities as per drawings.
Report site measurements, changes, and progress updates.
Support troubleshooting during installation.
5. Quality & Compliance
Ensure design and execution follow company
quality standards
.
Report defects or mismatches between drawings, production, and site work.
6. Learning & Development
Undergo training in
woodworking processes
, materials, machining, and installation.
Learn company-specific design templates, procedures, and execution standards.
Work under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers.
Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills
Basic knowledge of
AutoCAD / Pytha / SolidWorks / SketchUp
.
Understanding of woodworking materials (plywood, MDF, laminates, veneer, etc.).
Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and measurements.
Soft Skills
Good communication and coordination abilities.
Willingness to learn and adapt to site/production environments.
Problem-solving and logical thinking.
Time management and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Qualifications
Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or related fields.
Freshers or 0-0 year experience in furniture/wood/interior industry preferred.
Reporting To
Design Engineer / Project Manager / Production Manager.
Work Environment
Office-based design work.
Frequent coordination with production units.
Occasional travel to client sites for measurements and installation supervision.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
