The Trainee Captain / Supervisor supports the restaurant's daily operations by ensuring smooth service, guest satisfaction, and effective team coordination. This role serves as a bridge between the service team and management, learning leadership responsibilities while maintaining high standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and seat guests politely and ensure prompt service.
Supervise and guide the service team during operations.
Ensure tables are properly set and the restaurant is clean and organized.
Coordinate between kitchen, bar, and service staff for smooth service flow.
Handle guest requests and complaints in a professional manner.
Conduct pre-shift briefings and communicate daily specials or promotions.
Assist in training new staff and maintaining service standards.
Monitor food and beverage presentation and quality.
Support in inventory checks and stock control.
Ensure hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards are maintained.
Help with restaurant opening and closing procedures.
Encourage upselling and promote menu items to guests.
Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or equivalent qualification.
1-2 years of F&B service experience (fresh graduates may apply for trainee role).
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Positive attitude with a passion for hospitality and teamwork.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Basic knowledge of restaurant systems/POS is an advantage.
