Responsibilities:
Projects and responsibilities vary based on business need.Actuarial Modelling Projects - Assist in building and maintaining actuarial models for pricing, reserving, or capital modelling.
Updating experience studies - looking through our data to identify the frequency and severity of our claims across demographic groups. Findings directly affect the pricing of our products by setting assumptions based on both our internal experience and industry-wide experience.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of actuarial tools and processes. Get hands on experience in technologies like SAS, R, Python, VBA, MG-ALFA etc. Understand why things are changing from projection to projection, allowing us to better analyse future performance from block to block.
Other responsibilities could include -identifying model elements most likely to be impacted by the economic environment, designing and running test scenarios, analysing results, and summarizing findings.
Conduct research on regulatory changes, industry trends, and actuarial best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as underwriting, finance, and product development.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate Bachelors degree (any stream)
Other: Strong technical skills.
Good aptitude, positive attitude, strong reasoning and communication skills. Must be a good team player. Good analytical skills, research oriented. Sound knowledge of Principal Financial Group specific application. Ability to resolve questions/issues related to the application as a Subject matter expert, ability to communicate with various stakeholders. Good actuarial exam progress.
