Job Title: Trade Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Commerce, Economics, or Business Administration Master's degree (MBA / PGDM in Finance or International Business) preferred Mandatory Certifications: CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist) CSDG (Certified Specialist in Demand Guarantees)
Experience : 8-15 years

We are seeking an experienced Trade Finance SME to provide domain expertise, guide product development, and ensure compliance with international trade finance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Note - CDCS and CSDG certifications are mandatory requirements for this role.

Act as the domain expert for trade finance in platform development, ensuring alignment with banking practices and regulatory compliance. Define and validate workflows for Letters of Credit (LCs), Bills of Exchange, Invoices, Bills of Lading, Import/Export documentation. Provide compliance and regulatory inputs including UCP 600, ISBP, FEMA, AML, KYC, OFAC, and ICC guidelines. Collaborate with product, technology, and client teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications. Validate AI/ML-driven outputs such as OCR accuracy, anomaly detection, and classification of trade documents. Prepare use-case scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria for new product features. Assist in client onboarding discussions, demos, and training sessions.
Required Skills

5-10 years of experience in trade finance operations, compliance, or consulting (banking/financial institution background preferred). In-depth knowledge of Indian and international trade finance instruments (LC, BG, invoice financing). Strong understanding of UCP 600, ISBP, Incoterms, AML/KYC, FEMA regulations, SWIFT messaging standards. Experience in working with core banking/trade finance platforms (e.g., Finacle Trade, EximBills). Ability to bridge the gap between business teams and technical developers.
