Role Description:

The Global Passive Operations function within Technology & Operations was created as a key interface between Operations and our stakeholders across Passive Portfolio Management, Product and Capital Markets and rolls up into the newly founded group \xe2\x80\x9cGlobal Operating Platform\xe2\x80\x9d since August 2022.

Global Passive Operations acts as a dedicated partner for operational topics including process enhancements and project, issues, and escalation management within the Passive business pillar. Topics covered by the team usually require a strong internal network and a broad knowledge across different operational processes within DWS which helps to perform assessments followed by improvement or implementation of processes, specific technology, or systems.

The role of Passive Operations is global and involves requests from all Passive business pillars around the world including direct engagement with appointed external business partners and / or clients stake holders like Structuring, Trading, Valuations, Operations, Risk Management, Management Company, Custodian, Paying Agent Accounting teams, exchanges etc. for successful launches & listings.

The Trade and Transaction Operator is accountable to facilitate the issuance and life cycle management of DWS Exchange traded funds (ETF) and Exchange traded Commodities (ETC). Lifecycle management of Funds which includes but not limited to activities like dividend/coupon/swap calculation, managing the review/approval process, ad hoc reporting, regulatory reporting, vendor management. Ensures the escalation of operational, regulatory, and other risks to line manager and functional leads as appropriate.

The team consists of 12 people located in London, Frankfurt, Hong Kong and Pune and will be expanded to a team size of 15. We are specifically recruiting an individual to support the APAC ETF business to support Hong Kong related tasks. A prior understanding of Funds, Exchange Traded and/or Securitised Products will therefore be beneficial.

Ideally the candidate will also have knowledge of trade processing, settlement and an appreciation of the control environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

Ensure timely, complete, and accurate processing of tasks such as the following
  • Execution of critical run the bank tasks such as fund issuance including listing on stock exchanges and delivering fund lifecycle events to the market, ensuring connectivity to all external service providers
  • Ad-hoc assessments of issues arising including status reporting to management
  • Support to ensure operational stability in close co-operation with internal and external stakeholders
  • Involvement in process improvement projects and other initiatives
A more detailed overview of your tasks
  • Set up new ETFs and share classes in DWS Passive internal databases
  • Managing the launch and listing of ETF & ETC at stock exchanges and launch of share classes and funds
  • Timely and accurate processing of transactions which includes NAV exception monitoring, daily reporting, and publication
  • Preparing fund calendars, platform holidays, investigating NAV exceptions and disseminate to comply with the LSE regulation
  • Perform NAV review and validation prior to release to the market in accordance with SFC guidelines
  • Produce and upload APAC related regulatory reports to HK and SG Stock Exchange websites
  • Disseminating legal notices and work accordingly towards the changes/corporate actions applicable for the specific fund, which might include however not limited to fund name change, strategy change, fee change, dividend distribution
  • Preparing final terms for ETC trades, trade capturing and regulatory reporting to FCA and Central Bank of Ireland
  • Reporting activities which include daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual & annual reporting
  • Ensuring correct & timely publication of data on the media partners
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Your skills and experience
  • Bachelor or master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in economics, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Basic understanding of asset management operations (trade life cycle), exchange traded funds, involved financial products
  • Basic experience with Bloomberg, Refinitiv and other global data source points
  • Basic skills in using MS Office
  • Self-driven attitude, willing to improve the status quo and achieve tangible outcomes
