Department: Track Machine Operator Maintenance / Engineering

Location: Chennai, Trichy, Madurai, Salem

Reports To: Track Supervisor / Senior Engineer

Job Type: Contractual - 24 to 36 months initially and then will be renewed

Job Summary:

Asst. Track Machine Operator is responsible for operating specialized track maintenance machines such as tamping machines, ballast regulators, dynamic track stabilizers, and other on-track equipment. The operator ensures that railway tracks are maintained to the highest safety and performance standards by performing precision operations during scheduled track maintenance or upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate various on-track machines used for rail maintenance and track geometry correction (e.g., tampers, regulators, dynamic stabilizers, etc.). Conduct pre-operational inspections of the machine to ensure mechanical functionality and safety. Follow track maintenance schedules and instructions from supervisors or railway engineers. Monitor track geometry readings and adjust machine settings accordingly. Communicate effectively with the ground crew, signal personnel, and control centres to ensure safety. Perform routine maintenance and minor troubleshooting of the machine. Record operational data and maintenance logs accurately. Adhere strictly to railway safety protocols and operating rules. Assist in loading/unloading the machine onto/off the track if needed.
Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Engineer / Diploma in Electronics / Electrical / Mechanical (preferred).
Job Types: Full-time, Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
