Job Summary:

The Tool Room Technician is responsible for the proper storage, maintenance, distribution, and inventory of tools and equipment used in manufacturing or maintenance operations. This role ensures that tools are in good working condition, tracked accurately, and readily available for use by technicians and production staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Issue tools, dies, gauges, and equipment to employees in accordance with production or maintenance schedules. Maintain a detailed and accurate tool inventory, using manual logs or software-based tracking systems. Inspect tools and equipment for wear or damage; perform minor repairs or coordinate with repair vendors. Clean, calibrate, and store tools in designated areas according to standard operating procedures. Order, receive, and catalog new tools and supplies as needed. Monitor tool usage and identify shortages or misuse. Assist in the design or modification of jigs, fixtures, or tool holders as directed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized tool room. Support production or maintenance staff with tooling-related questions and needs. Follow all safety protocols and maintain compliance with quality standards.
