Job Opening: Tool Room Head (Home Appliances)

A Tool Room Manager oversees daily tool room operations, including supervising staff, managing inventory, scheduling maintenance, ensuring quality, and troubleshooting tooling issues, while also planning production, managing costs, and collaborating with engineering for continuous improvement to support manufacturing goals. Key duties involve hands-on fabrication (milling, grinding), interpreting technical drawings, implementing safety (5S), and maintaining equipment like EDM, presses, and CNC machines.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management:

Supervise day-to-day activities, production planning, resource allocation, and tool issuance.

Team Leadership:

Lead, train, coach, and manage tool room personnel, setting performance goals.

Maintenance & Quality:

Oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, and quality control for tools, dies, and equipment (lathes, grinders, EDM).

Technical Expertise:

Read blueprints, manage tool design, fabrication, and modifications, and troubleshoot technical problems.

Process Improvement:

Implement continuous improvement (Kaizen, 5S) and coordinate with other departments (design, production) for efficiency.

Inventory & Documentation:

Manage stock, spares, job cards, downtime logs, and maintain accurate records.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience in tool and die making, CNC, machining, and tool design. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency with precision measuring tools, CAD, and relevant software. Knowledge of quality control, safety standards (HSE), and lean manufacturing. Education: Often a technical diploma or degree in engineering.
