We are seeking an experienced

Tool Maker / Tool Room Technician

with strong hands-on expertise in

injection mould development, correction, and maintenance

. This is a core shop-floor role for a technically grounded professional who has worked extensively in a tool room environment and is proficient in

EDM (Sparking), surface grinding, fitting, and mould correction

.

The role will closely support mould development, trials, and ongoing tooling optimisation for injection moulding operations.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out

mould development, modification, and correction work

based on production feedback and trial observations. Carry out EDM (Sparking), surface grinding, fitting, polishing, drilling, and precision bench work for mould correction, assembly, and fine-detail adjustments. Diagnose tooling-related issues such as flash, short shots, mismatch, wear, and dimensional deviations, and implement corrective actions. Support mould trials on injection moulding machines; assist during

mould mounting, alignment, and initial sampling

. Coordinate with mould designers, moulders, and maintenance teams to ensure tooling intent is accurately translated on the shop floor. Maintain tools, fixtures, and mould components in optimal working condition, following safety and quality standards.

Requirements

5-8 years of hands-on experience working in a Tool Room environment, preferably with injection moulds. Strong practical knowledge of EDM (Sparking), surface grinding, mould fitting, and bench work. Solid understanding of injection mould construction, including cores, cavities, sliders, lifters, inserts, and cooling layouts. Ability to independently handle mould corrections with minimal supervision. Experience supporting mould trials and interacting with injection moulding operations is a strong plus. Comfortable working in a factory environment and extended day shifts as required.
