The Tool Room Engineer will be responsible for maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and improvement of molds used in injection molding operations. The role ensures mold availability, precision, and performance to support continuous production targets.
Key Responsibilities
Handle
mold maintenance, repair, polishing, and assembly
activities.
Conduct
preventive & breakdown maintenance
of injection molding tools.
Analyse mold defects, flash issues, alignment problems & implement corrective actions.
Work closely with production team to resolve molding problems & improve tooling life.
Maintain
tool history records, maintenance logs, and spare inventory
.
Support new mold trials, fitment, and validation activities.
Manage
.
Coordinate with suppliers for tool corrections, spares, refurbishing & development.
Ensure that tools meet dimensional accuracy & production tolerances.
Desired Skills
Strong knowledge of
mold assembly, hot runners, cooling circuits & ejection systems
& cycle time optimization.
RCA knowledge for mold failures, burr issues & core/cavity wear.
Qualification
Diploma / BE in Mechanical / Tool & Die / Production Engineering.
Certification in mold making / tool design will be an added advantage.
