Key Responsibilities:
Perform
TIG welding
on stainless steel hoses, assemblies, and piping components.
Execute
butt welding
, fillet welding, and joint welding for various diameters and thicknesses.
Work with different
hose and pipe sizes
as per production requirements.
Inspect materials, set up welding equipment, and ensure proper fit-up before welding.
Ensure welds meet required
quality, penetration, and finishing standards
.
Read and understand
engineering drawings, welding symbols, and specifications
.
Maintain welding machines, torches, and tools in good working condition.
Operate safely and follow all
EHS (Environment, Health & Safety)
guidelines.
Conduct self-quality checks and coordinate with QA team for final inspection.
Support production team in timely completion of daily targets.
Required Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience in
TIG (GTAW) welding
.
Skilled in
butt welding
on stainless steel pipes/hoses.
Ability to weld varying
diameters and thicknesses
.
Understanding of metallurgy, welding defects, and rectification methods.
Ability to read welding gauges, measuring tools.
Experience in welding
braided hoses, corrugated hoses, or piping assemblies
will be preferred.
Measuring Instruments (Required Proficiency)
Candidate must be able to accurately use the following measuring tools:
Vernier Caliper
- Measuring OD/ID and thickness.
Micrometer
- Precision diameter and thickness measurement.
Steel Scale
- Layout marking and basic measurements.
Measuring Tape
- Hose/pipe length measurement.
Feeler Gauge
- Checking root gap and alignment.
Weld Gauge (Fillet/Butt Gauge)
- Measuring weld reinforcement and throat size.
Angle Protractor / Bevel Gauge
- Checking angles and bevel preparation.
Radius Gauge
- Checking radius conformity.
Dial Gauge (if required)
- Precision alignment for fixtures.
Qualification
ITI - Welder
Additional welding certifications (TIG / GTAW) will be an added advantage.
Experience Required
Trainee Welder:
1-3 years of TIG welding experience
Welder:
5-7 years of TIG/Piping/Hose welding experience
Candidates with experience in
hose manufacturing, flexible metal assemblies, or industrial piping fabrication
