Aseptic Assistance
: Maintaining strict sterile technique and assisting surgeons with gowning and gloving.
Instrument Management
: Anticipating the surgeon's needs and passing instruments quickly and accurately throughout the operation.
Safety Checks
: Performing meticulous counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments with the circulating nurse to prevent retained surgical items.
Post-Op Cleanup
: Assisting with the cleanup of the room, proper disposal of biohazardous materials, and preparing for the next patient.
