The General Science Teacher is responsible for imparting foundational knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology through inquiry-based and experiential learning methods. The teacher ensures scientific thinking, conceptual clarity, application-based learning alignment with CBSE curriculum standards while fostering confidence and analytical thinking among students.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc / B.E.) in Science (Physics / Chemistry / Biology).
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) - Mandatory.
Eligibility as per CBSE norms for TGT/PGT Teachers.
Sound knowledge of scientific concepts and lab practices.
Ability to conduct experiments and manage laboratory sessions.
Proficiency in using teaching aids and basic computer skills for lesson planning, assessments, and academic reporting..
Tasks & Activities:
Teach General Science concepts as per CBSE syllabus and academic calendar.
Plan and conduct theory lessons, demonstrations, and practical activities.
Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and assessments aligned with learning outcomes.
Use activity-based, problem-solving, and real-life application methods to teach concepts.
Conduct regular assessments, evaluate answer scripts, and maintain academic records.
Prepare students for internal assessments, examinations, and board-aligned evaluations.
Identify learning gaps and provide remedial support and enrichment activities.
Promote scientific inquiry, observation, experimentation, and critical thinking.
Encourage environmental awareness and scientific temperament.
Integrate technology, models, and teaching aids into lessons.
Maintain discipline and a focused learning environment in the classroom.
Conduct and supervise laboratory activities ensuring safety protocols.
Evaluate student performance and maintain academic and lab records.
Coordinate with lab staff and maintain discipline in classrooms and labs.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure interdisciplinary learning and academic consistency.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and academic concerns.
Participate in academic planning, meetings,training,events and professional development programs.
Uphold school policies, CBSE norms, and ethical teaching standards.
