Job Summary:

The TGT - Social Science Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective classroom instruction in Social Science subjects (History, Geography, Political Science, and Economics) for middle and secondary grades as per the CBSE curriculum. The teacher will promote critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and civic awareness while fostering an inclusive, student-centered classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in accordance with the CBSE syllabus for Classes VI-X. Integrate experiential learning, ICT tools, and activity-based methods into classroom instruction. Develop and implement lesson plans, learning modules, and assessments aligned with CBSE learning outcomes. Prepare students for periodic assessments, term examinations, and board assessments. Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide constructive feedback.

Curriculum & Assessment:

Design question papers, assignments, and projects as per CBSE guidelines and Bloom's Taxonomy. Contribute to curriculum enrichment, subject integration, and interdisciplinary projects. Participate in syllabus planning, departmental meetings, and academic audits.

Student Engagement & Development:

Encourage student participation through discussions, debates, and group activities. Provide remedial and enrichment support to cater to diverse learning needs. Foster awareness of historical, geographical, and socio-political issues through classroom and co-curricular initiatives.

Professional Responsibilities:

Participate in school events, assemblies, exhibitions, and parent-teacher meetings. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and school culture. Stay updated with CBSE circulars, NEP 2020 directives, and current educational trends. Maintain professional ethics and uphold the school's mission and values.

Qualifications and Experience:Essential:

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor's Degree in History / Geography / Political Science / Economics with B.Ed. (recognized by NCTE).

Experience:

Minimum 2-5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE-affiliated school.

Language Proficiency:

Excellent command over English (spoken and written).

Preferred:

Master's Degree in relevant discipline. Experience with digital learning tools (Google Classroom, MS Teams, etc.). Familiarity with NEP 2020-aligned pedagogical practices.
