Job Description

Job Purpose

To teach Social Science (History, Geography, Civics, Economics) to middle school students (Classes VI-X, as applicable) and support their academic, social, and emotional development through effective teaching practices.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Social Science as per the prescribed curriculum. Teach History, Geography, Civics, and Economics effectively using age-appropriate methodologies. Use innovative teaching aids, digital tools, maps, charts, and activities to enhance learning. Encourage critical thinking, inquiry, and discussion among students. Ensure completion of the syllabus within stipulated timelines.
Student Assessment & Progress

Design worksheets, assignments, projects, and assessments as per school guidelines. Evaluate answer scripts, projects, and classwork and provide constructive feedback. Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student performance. Identify learning gaps and provide remedial support where required.
Classroom Management

Maintain a disciplined, inclusive, and positive classroom environment. Promote values such as citizenship, responsibility, respect, and teamwork. Address behavioral or academic concerns in coordination with school authorities.
Curriculum & Academic Support

Participate in curriculum planning, lesson planning, and academic meetings. Prepare question papers, conduct examinations, and assist in evaluation work. Support interdisciplinary learning and project-based activities.
Parent & School Engagement

Communicate student progress and concerns to parents during PTMs and meetings. Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership for academic improvement. Participate actively in school events, field trips, assemblies, and co-curricular activities.
Professional Development

Attend training programs, workshops, and staff development sessions. Stay updated with changes in curriculum, teaching strategies, and educational trends. Adhere to school policies, child safety norms, and professional ethics.
