Job Description

The TGT - Social Science Teacher is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons in History, Geography, Civics, and Economics for middle and secondary school students. The teacher should foster critical thinking, civic awareness, and an understanding of cultural and historical perspectives among students.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach Social Science subjects (History, Geography, Civics, and Economics) as per the prescribed curriculum (CBSE/ICSE/State Board). Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and classroom activities to enhance learning. Encourage analytical and critical thinking through discussions, debates, and projects. Assess students' progress through assignments, tests, and examinations. Maintain proper records of students' attendance, grades, and performance. Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods in classroom instruction. Support school events, exhibitions, and educational trips related to the subject. Participate in departmental meetings, teacher training, and school improvement initiatives. Guide students in developing values of social responsibility, patriotism, and empathy. Maintain discipline, decorum, and a positive learning environment in the classroom.

Qualifications and Experience:

Graduate/ Post Graduate B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) Minimum

2 years

of teaching experience in an Affiliated School. Proficiency in English and Hindi. Familiarity with modern teaching tools and digital platforms.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong communication and classroom management skills. In-depth subject knowledge and passion for teaching. Ability to connect historical and social concepts to real-life contexts. Team player with a collaborative approach. Creativity, empathy, and enthusiasm for holistic student development.
