. The role demands effective instructional delivery, classroom management, student assessment, and participation in academic and co-curricular initiatives, with the goal of fostering critical thinking, civic awareness, and a deep understanding of social and historical contexts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Planning & Implementation
Prepare detailed lesson plans and teaching materials aligned with the CBSE Social Science curriculum.
Ensure timely and comprehensive coverage of topics from NCERT textbooks and relevant resources.
Design interdisciplinary projects that connect Social Science with current events and other subjects.
2. Teaching & Classroom Engagement
Deliver engaging, student-centered lessons across History, Geography, Civics, and Economics.
Use innovative teaching methodologies, including storytelling, group discussions, role-plays, and multimedia tools.
Encourage inquiry, analysis, and debate to help students form informed opinions on social issues.
3. Assessment & Evaluation
Develop and administer class tests, assignments, projects, and examinations in accordance with school and CBSE guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and prepare periodic academic reports.
Provide individualized feedback to students and guide them in improving academic performance.
4. Student Development & Mentoring
Support students in understanding and reflecting on social, political, and historical developments.
Identify and assist students requiring additional academic or emotional support.
5. Classroom Management & Discipline
Maintain a well-ordered, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
Promote values such as democracy, equality, and environmental awareness through classroom activities.
Implement school policies related to behavior, attendance, and discipline.
6. Parent & Stakeholder Communication
Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.
Participate in parent-teacher meetings and contribute to student development plans.
7. Institutional Participation
Take part in staff meetings, department planning, school functions, and professional development programs.
Assist in organizing field trips, heritage walks, and community engagement activities.
Support in examination duties, invigilation, and documentation as assigned.
8. Professional Growth & CBSE Compliance
Stay updated with CBSE circulars, syllabus changes, and best practices in Social Science education.
Attend in-service training programs and contribute to curriculum enrichment.
