Position: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) - Science :
- Curriculum Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging curriculum for science subjects (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Biology) that aligns with national or state standards and educational objectives.
- Design lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities of students.
- Classroom Instruction:
- Deliver high-quality instruction in science subjects using a variety of teaching methodologies, such as lectures, demonstrations, hands-on experiments, inquiry-based learning, and multimedia presentations.
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and scientific inquiry among students through interactive discussions and laboratory activities.
- Subject Expertise:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of scientific concepts, principles, theories, and applications across different branches of science (e.g., physics, chemistry, biology).
- Stay updated on developments in scientific research, discoveries, and technologies, and integrate relevant and current information into teaching materials and lessons.
- Laboratory Management:
- Manage science laboratory facilities, equipment, and supplies, ensuring safety protocols and procedures are followed during experiments and demonstrations.
- Supervise students during laboratory sessions, providing guidance, support, and assistance as they conduct experiments and investigations.
- Integration of Technology:
- Integrate technology tools and digital resources into science instruction to enhance learning and engagement, such as interactive simulations, virtual labs, multimedia presentations, and educational software.
- Teach students how to use scientific equipment, data collection tools, and software applications for data analysis, graphing, and scientific modeling.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Develop and administer assessments, quizzes, tests, projects, and examinations to evaluate student understanding, mastery of scientific concepts, and practical skills.
- Analyze assessment data to monitor student progress, identify areas of strength and weakness, and provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Extracurricular Activities:
- Organize and supervise extracurricular activities related to science education, such as science fairs, clubs, competitions, field trips, and guest lectures by scientists and experts.
- Encourage student participation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) initiatives and projects to promote interest and excellence in science and related fields.
- Individualized Support:
- Provide individualized support and remediation to students who require additional help or accommodations in understanding science concepts, completing assignments, or preparing for exams.
- Collaborate with special education staff and support services to address the needs of students with learning disabilities or other special needs in the science classroom.
- Parent Communication:
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to provide updates on student progress, academic performance, and participation in science activities and events.
- Solicit parental involvement in supporting students\' learning and interest in science through home-based projects, experiments, and discussions.
- Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current on developments in science education, pedagogical techniques, curriculum standards, and technology integration.
- Attend workshops, conferences, seminars, and training sessions related to science teaching, and collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources.
