Role Overview

The TGT Computer Teacher is responsible for teaching computer studies to middle and secondary classes, building students' digital literacy, problem-solving skills, and responsible use of technology.

Key Responsibilities

Teach

Computer Science / Computer Applications

to classes (usually VI-X, depending on school norms) Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the prescribed curriculum Explain fundamentals such as: Computer basics & hardware/software Operating systems MS Office / Google Workspace Programming basics (Scratch, Python, HTML, etc. as per syllabus) Internet safety & cyber ethics Conduct practical lab sessions and supervise computer lab activities Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, projects, and assessments Evaluate students' classwork, practicals, and exams Maintain computer lab records and ensure proper use of equipment Integrate technology into classroom teaching Support school events, exhibitions, and tech-based activities Communicate student progress with parents and school administration
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

in Computer Science / IT / Computer Applications (BCA/B.Sc CS)

B.Ed

(mandatory for most schools) CTET/TET qualification (as per board or school requirement)
Skills & Competencies

Strong subject knowledge in computer science fundamentals Basic programming and application skills Classroom management and student engagement Clear communication and explanation skills Ability to work with students of varying learning levels Familiarity with smart boards, LMS, and digital tools
