Job Summary:

The TGT Biology is responsible for teaching Biology to secondary school students (Classes VI-X), developing foundational biological concepts, and fostering scientific curiosity through theory and practical work. The teacher supports effective curriculum delivery, assessment, and student development.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Responsibilities

Teach

Biology

to Classes VI-X as per the prescribed curriculum Plan and deliver engaging, concept-based lessons using effective teaching strategies Explain biological concepts related to plants, animals, human physiology, and environment Use diagrams, models, specimens, and real-life examples to enhance understanding Prepare students for school examinations and assessments

Laboratory & Practical Work

Conduct and supervise Biology practicals and experiments Ensure safe use, maintenance, and organization of laboratory equipment and specimens Guide students in lab records, projects, and investigatory work

Assessment & Evaluation

Prepare worksheets, assignments, and question papers Conduct tests and evaluate student performance Maintain accurate academic records and progress reports Provide feedback, remedial teaching, and enrichment support

Student Development

Encourage observation, inquiry, and scientific thinking Identify learning gaps and support students with additional guidance Mentor students for science exhibitions, Olympiads, quizzes, and competitions

School Responsibilities

Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and workshops Assist in examinations, school events, and co-curricular activities Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress Maintain discipline and a safe, positive classroom environment

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Biology / Life Sciences (B.Sc.)

B.Ed.

(mandatory as per board norms)

Experience

Minimum

2-4 years

of teaching experience at secondary level (preferred) Freshers with strong subject knowledge may be considered

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of Chemistry concepts Ability to conduct practicals safely and confidently Effective classroom management and communication skills Familiarity with digital teaching tools and smart classrooms Student-centered and innovative teaching approach

Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Accommodation available for outstation candidate.
